Guiding in High Tatras
The High Tatras are not only the pride of Slovakia, but also the only mountain range with an alpine character between the Alps and the Caucasus. They are also the highest mountain range of the 1,200-kilometer-long Carpathian Arc. The main ridge of the High Tatras is 26 kilometers long and according to folklore, the Tatras contain 999 Tatra peaks. Of all the peaks, only 8 are available for tourists on marked trails, and for the others you have to choose mountain leaders or guides, depending on the difficulty.
